Funny bit of history: I once owned an 81 delorean; here I am circa 2000 in my delorean:
At first I entertain the idea of building something around a stroller or a wagon, but ultimately decide it's just easier to build it from scratch.
I build a frame out of wood and use poster board for the body panels, the driver's door is designed to open gull-wing style:
Adding some paint and details:
Detailing the interior: I use my color laser printer to print transparencies which are then back-lit with leds. This along with a lot of random wire and switches creates a pretty cool looking interior:

Trick or treating in style:
The whole family had BTTF themed costumes. My wife was Doc Brown, I did my best to create a faithful reproduction of the radio control he used in the movie, it's not the exact model of RC controller but it's from the same era and very close--I tried to find the exact model but ebay prices were astronomical--I'm not the only prop maker with this idea:
